
The San Jose Sharks announced they have signed forward Ryan Carpenter to a one-year, two-way contract.
The monetary details of the contract were not released.
Carpenter registered three points (one goal, two assists) in 22 games for the New York Rangers in 2022-23.
He also had 44 points (21 goals, 23 assists) in 51 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. Carpenter's 21 AHL goals established a new career high.
This will be Carpenter’s second stint with San Jose, having previously spent parts of five seasons in the organization from 2013-14 to 2017-18. In 28 NHL games with the Sharks, he has recorded five points (two goals, three assists), along with six penalty minutes and a plus-six rating.
Carpenter had 206 AHL games in the Sharks minor league system with the Barracuda and Worcester Sharks. Carpenter has compiled 130 points (44 goals, 86 assists), 105 penalty minutes, and a plus-42 rating. He helped the Barracuda reach the Western Conference Finals in the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs and led the club with 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 15 postseason appearances.
