On Tuesday (Jun. 24) afternoon, the 2025 Hockey Hall of Fame class was announced, and San Jose Sharks fans were hoping to hear one of their former players names called this time around.

That's exactly what happened, as longtime Sharks forward Joe Thornton has been named part of the 2025 class and will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Thornton joins Duncan Keith, Zdeno Chara, Jennifer Botterill, Brianna Decker, and Alexander Mogilny as members being inducted in the players category. Jack Parker and Danielle Sauvageau have been inducted as builders for this class as well.

Through 1714 career NHL games, Thornton scored 430 goals and added 1109 assists for 1539 points.

    Congratulations, Jumbo Joe.
