The San Jose Sharks had a fairly quiet Trade Deadline, until the final hour that is. With just under an hour remaining before the deadline, it was reported by TSN’s Chris Johnston that the Sharks had made their first trade of the day.
The Sharks traded defenseman Timothy Liljegren to the Washington Capitals. The Sharks received a fourth-round pick in return.
The Capitals are likely bringing Liljegren in to fill the hole left by John Carlson’s departure, as the longtime Capital was traded to the Anaheim Ducks the previous night.
As a right-handed defenseman, Liljegren was certainly garnering quite a bit of attention. Now, he’ll be heading to the nation’s capital.
