Former San Jose Sharks defenseman Vincent Iorio will be staying in the Big Apple for at least one more season, as he’s signed a new one-year contract with the New York Rangers.

Iorio, 23, joined the Sharks last season when the team in teal claimed him off of waivers from the Washington Capitals in mid-October. After 21 games with the Sharks, and six with their American Hockey League affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, the Rangers claimed Iorio off of waivers themselves, ending his short stint in the Bay Area.

After being claimed by the Rangers, Iorio was limited to just six games for his new team and he failed to record a point during that time.

Per PuckPedia, Iorio’s new deal in New York carries an average annual value of $850k and he’ll once again be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2026-27 season.
