Two former members of the San Jose Sharks have been selected to the 2025 Class of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, including a former Sharks captain.

First, Joe Pavelski was a mainstay in San Jose for over a decade. The Sharks’ seventh-round pick in the 2003 NHL Draft, Pavelski overcame the odds and became a key piece during the Sharks’ ‘Golden Age.’ In 13 seasons wearing teal, he played 963 games, scored 355 goals, and assisted on 406 others.

Pavelski was named the Sharks’ captain heading into the 2015-16 season and held that post until he moved to the Dallas Stars ahead of the 2019-20 season. With Dallas, his legacy continued to grow until he hung up his skates following the 2023-24 season.

Scott Gomez, on the other hand, had a much shorter stint with the San Jose Sharks. He played just 39 games for the Sharks during the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season, recording 15 points in that time frame. Overall, though, Gomez had a phenomenal career and is mostly remembered for his time with the New Jersey Devils.

Both Pavelski and Gomez accomplished great things at the NHL level, and as a result, it’s no surprise that they’re being recognized by the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.
