Mikael Granlund had a goal and an assist in the San Jose Sharks 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.

Mike Hoffman, Calen Addison, and Tomas Hertl all finished with two points. Hoffman scored his sixth goal in his last six games. Fabian Zetterlund scored his fifth goal of the year, and Ty Emberson scored his first career NHL goal. Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 31 shots.

Filip Hronek had a goal and an assist for Vancouver. Brock Boeser scored twice, and Casey DeSmith made 18 saves.

Granlund's goal was dazzling. He danced through all four Canucks defenders and went around the goalie for his first as a member of the Sharks.

In the third period, all hell broke loose. Addison was hit up high by Canucks forward Elias Pettersson, and a massive scrum broke loose.

The Sharks played a well-structured game and finally were rewarded for their hard work.

    FIRST PERIOD:

9:58: Emberson smashes his first NHL goal into the top corner. 1-0 Sharks

15:37: Hronek gets his second goal of the year on the powerplay to tie the game at one.

David Quinn won yet another challenge and is now 9 for 10 since becoming the Sharks head coach. Overall the Sharks hung with the Canucks in the first frame, and this game is tied after one is the perfect example.

    SECOND PERIOD:

14:05: Zetterlund rips home a pass from Hertl. 2-1 Sharks.

19:38: Hronek blasted a one-timer at 90.9 MPH, creating a rebound for Boeser to slide home. 2-2

Another evenly played period for the most part. The Canucks had some offensive zone time for about 5-6 minutes, but after the Sharks killed a penalty, they brought momentum back to their side.

    THIRD PERIOD:

0:22: Granlund dances through everyone for his first as a Shark. 3-2 Sharks.

1:48: Hoffman scores on the powerplay to extend the Sharks lead. 4-2 Sharks.

16:47: Boeser scores his second of the game. 4-3 Sharks
