

Tomas Hertl scored a hat trick as the San Jose Sharks came from behind to beat the New York Islanders 5-4 in overtime on Tuesday night.
Tomas Hertl's hat trick brings his goal total to seven, tying him for the team lead. Kevin Labanc scored his first goal of the season. Kaapo Kahkonen was steady, making 27 saves. He was under fire all night, stopping two breakaways and multiple odd-man rushes.
Julian Gauthier scored his second goal of the season in the first period. Brock Nelson scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season. Mike Reilly scored his first goal as a member of the Islanders. Ryan Pulock netted his second goal of the season. Ilya Sorokin made 32 saves.
The Sharks gave up two powerplay goals and a shorthanded goal. San Jose's PK has given up a goal in four straight games.
San Jose had another comeback in the third period, capped off by Hertl's second and third goals coming 1:41 apart with the Sharks net empty.

The period comes to an end knotted up at one. The Sharks had some moments initially but were outshot 15-6 in the frame. Duclair was noticeable throughout and was rewarded with a primary assist.
