Nico Sturm won't be in the lineup for the San Jose Sharks against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Sturm missed 19 games last season with an injury, and tonight will be the first game he misses in 24-25. The center didn't return to the Sharks' previous game against the New York Rangers late in the second period due to an upper-body injury.
Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky didn't have an update after the game on Thursday, but the forward skated after the official portion of today's morning skate. Warsofsky told reporters that Sturm is day-to-day.
Sturm has three goals and three assists, leading the team with a 65.6 face-off win %.
Klim Kostin will play for the first time since Oct. 28.
