The San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks have already made a pair of trades this season, but could they make it a hat trick?

According to insider Pierre LeBrun, there's a chance that the Sharks and Canucks could pull off a third trade before Friday's trade deadline. The Sharks acquired Kiefer Sherwood from the Canucks back in January, then swapped Jack Thompson for Jett Woo on Thursday morning. Now, it's Conor Garland who could be making his way to the Bay Area.

The Sharks are far from the only team trying to acquire the 29-year-old forward. LeBrun also mentioned the Columbus Blue Jackets, Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, and Boston Bruins as teams who have been showing interest. Garland is in the middle of his fifth season in Vancouver, and in 50 games, he has recorded 26 points, including seven goals.

Garland is in the final year of his current contract, which carries a cap hit of $4.950 million, but has already agreed to an extension with the Canucks. The six-year extension is worth a total of $36 million, and runs until Garland is 36 years old. It also contains a full no-move clause in the first three years of the contract, with a modified no-trade clause in the latter half.
