It's gameday!

The San Jose Sharks rallied to beat the Dallas Stars 5-4 at SAP Center on Saturday night.

Tyler Toffoli had two goals an an assist and Macklin Celebrini produced three helpers en route to the victory. Alex Nedeljkovic made 16 saves.

Mikko Rantanen and Jason Robertson each posted a goal and an assist for Dallas. Casey DeSmith stopped 26 shots.

First Period

The Stars scored two goals in the opening period to make it a 2-0 game. 

The first marker came from Justin Hryckowian, who stole the puck from Vincent Lorio at the top of the point and Hryckowian took off on a breakaway and beat Alex Nedeljkovic. 

The second goal came off the stick of Jason Robertson, who whacked in a loose rebound after Mikko Rantanen's initial rebound attempt got knocked away. It was Robertson's 26th goal of the season.

Second Period

San Jose responded with two power play goals in the second frame. The first score came from Alex Wennberg off a slick pass to the slot from Macklin Celebrini. The 31-year-old Wennberg signed a to a three-year contract extension worth $18 million with the Sharks last Sunday.

 

Just over 10 minutes later, Jeff Skinner added another power play marker to tie the game after Igor Chernyshov set him up for a tap-in at the doorstep. 

With a minute left in the period, Kyle Capobianco beat Nedeljkovic with a wrister top shelf that hit the upper left corner of the net off a 2-on-1 rush to give Dallas a one-goal lead. 

Third Period/Overtime

Mikko Rantanen scored to make it 4-2 Dallas. However, the Sharks scored three unanswered goals: Tyler Toffoli scored on the power play, Adam Gaudette scored with less than five minutes to go in regulation, and Toffoli scored again in overtime off a feed from Celebrini to hand the Sharks a 5-4 win.
