While the San Jose Sharks faced off against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday evening, Macklin Celebrini instantly continued his historic sophomore season.

Just 4:27 into the first period of the game, Celebrini scored his 42nd goal of the 2025-26 season. His 42nd goal moved him past Joe Pavelski for the fourth-most goals by a Shark in a single season. He now trails just Jonathan Cheechoo (56), Owen Nolan (44), and Patrick Marleau (44) in that regard.

That wasn't the only reason that goal was significant though, as it also moved him past Jimmy Carson (107) for the third-most points by a teenager in NHL history as he recorded his 108th point of the season. He now trails just two all-time greats, Wayne Gretzky (137) and Sidney Crosby (120).

Lastly, the goal was also the 171st point of Celebrini's career. That moved him past Brad Stuart for the 20th-most points by a member of the Sharks throughout a career. He'll now look to chase down Milan Michalek (214).

Celebrini is also closing in on Joe Thornton's franchise record for most points in a season. He's now trailing the Sharks legend by just six points with nearly six games left to play.
