Macklin Celebrini has been making history since stepping into the NHL as a rookie for the San Jose Sharks last season. Now, he's hit another major milestone at the age of just 19 years old.
Celebrini became only the fifth player in the history of the NHL to record 100 assists as a teenager according to NHL Public Relations.
Since Celebrini achieved the feat in 141 games, he was the third-fastest player to hit the milestone, behind just Dale Hawerchuk and Steve Yzerman.
Celebrini's 100th assist came in the third period when he assisted Igor Chernyshov's game-winning goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets. That assist also marked the Vancouver native's 98th point of the season which pushed him past Joe Thornton for the third most points in a regular season in franchise history.
He currently trails Erik Karlsson (101 points) for second on the list. Joe Thornton still holds the overall record though, with 114 points during the 2006-07 season.
