If the Sharks end up being sellers this season, keep an eye on these three players as potential trade candidates.

The San Jose Sharks have shown signs of progress so far this season. At the time of this writing, they have a 14-14-3 record and are fifth in the Pacific Division. When noting that they won only 20 games last season, there is no question that they have taken a step in the right direction in 2025-26.

However, with the Sharks still building up their roster, they could be sellers once again if they find themselves out of a playoff near the deadline.

Due to this, let's look at three Sharks who could get traded this season if the Sharks end up selling.

Mario Ferraro, D

Ferraro is certainly a Sharks player to keep an eye on as we inch closer to the deadline. The left-shot defenseman has been in the rumor mill for quite some time and is a pending unrestricted free agent. With this, he should be a popular target for playoff clubs looking to improve the left side of their defense.

Alex Wennberg, C

Wennberg is another pending UFA on the Sharks who could generate interest this season. Teams looking help down the middle could be calling about Wennberg, as he is a solid veteran two-way center who chips in offensively and kills penalties.

Jeff Skinner, LW

Skinner could also be a trade candidate to watch on the Sharks this season. The veteran forward's full no-trade clause expires on Jan. 30 and then becomes an eight-team trade list. Teams looking for more depth scoring could take a chance on the veteran forward.
