The San Jose Sharks head to Anaheim to take on the Anaheim Ducks in their third preseason game.
Rookie netminder Georgi Romanov will start between the pipes for San Jose. Lukas Dostal will start for the Ducks.
No. 2 overall pick Leo Carlsson will be in the lineup for Anaheim. There was some thought that he may fall to the Sharks at No. 4.
Here's how the Sharks are lining up:
Peterson-Bordeleau-Zadina
Gushchin-Carpenter-Todd
Bailey-Robins-Coe
Smith-Cassels-Raska
Thrun-Benning
Simek-MacDonald
Okhotiuk-Burroughs
Romanov
Here's how the Ducks are lining up:
The Sharks fell to Anaheim last night 4-2. Head Coach David Quinn was impressed with Shakir Mukhamadullin and MacKenzie Blackwood. He felt there could've been another level the team could've gotten to.
8:31: Raska draws a penalty but takes a puck up high. Helped off the ice with a towel to his head.
9:36: Justin Bailey scores his first preseason goal on the powerplay. Danil Gushchin and Thrun assist on the play.
17:19: Right off the offensive zone draw, Pavel Mintyukov fires a shot from the point that beats Romanov through traffic.
18:09: A great passing play leads to another goal for Anaheim. Chase De Leo was able to slide one through the legs of Romanov.
San Jose controlled the first 15 minutes of the period, but a seeing-eye shot and a great passing play put Team Teal behind the eight ball. San Jose will start the second period on the powerplay.
Radim Simek left the game during the period and hasn't returned.
8:16: Another offensive zone faceoff win for the Ducks. Brett Leason was left alone in front and took two tries but got the puck past Romanov.
Other than being one for five on the powerplay, the San Jose Sharks are dominating. Team Teal outshot Anaheim 16-6 in the second period. Lukas Dostal has been a brick wall in goal for the Ducks.
0:23: Romanov gets beaten by Brock McGinn. He needs to have that if he wants to be an NHL goalie.
6:26: Nathan Todd takes the puck from Cole Cassels and picks the top corner on Dostal. That was a terrific shot by the forward. 4-2 Ducks lead.
18:21: Killorn hits Zadina from behind in a very dirty fashion. Zadina was injured on the play.
