Rookie netminder Georgi Romanov will start in goal for the San Jose Sharks against the Anaheim Ducks.

The San Jose Sharks will get a chance to respond after last night's slow start against the Anaheim Ducks.

In the first road game of the preseason, San Jose will turn to rookie netminder Georgi Romanov in goal.

Romanov has looked exceptional in camp and has caught the eyes of many in the front office and coaching staff.

David Quinn also confirmed that Magnus Chrona will get a preseason start. That is likely to come on Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings.

That would leave the final two games of the preseason to Kaapo Kahkonen and MacKenzie Blackwood.

Fabian Zetterlund left last night's game in the third period with an injury, but it seems like he is genuinely day-to-day.

Mikael Granlund was expected to play last night but was a last-minute scratch.

"He feels much better today," San Jose Sharks head coach David Quinn said.

This feels like an actual day-to-day situation. Quinn said yesterday that he would've played if last night's game were a regular season game.

Projected lines:

Peterson-Bordeleau-Zadina
Gushchin-Carpenter-Wiesblatt
Raska-Coe-Smith
Cassels-Todd-Bailey

Thrun-Benning
Okhotiuk-Burroughs
Simek-MacDonald

Romanov
Kahkonen

Gannon Larouque is listed on the game roster but skated with the non-game group this morning. Tristen Robins was not supposed to play last night but entered the lineup for Granlund. The expectations are that he won't play tonight despite being listed on the game roster.

Anthony Duclair spoke to the media this morning, and all signs indicate his interest in staying in San Jose long-term.

Duclair, who represents himself, says that neither he nor the San Jose Sharks have discussed a possible extension.

According to Elliotte Friedman, a long-term contract seems to be something that makes sense for both sides.

Tonight's stream can be found on the Anaheim Duck's website. It will also be available via The Sharks Audio Network. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
