The San Jose Sharks' American Hockey League affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, have clinched a playoff spot, but things have not been going well for them ever since.
The Barracuda have lost 10 of their last 11 games, with their only win during that span coming against the Colorado Eagles on April 3 when they picked up a 6-3 victory at home.
Concerningly, two of the Barracuda's losses came against their upcoming playoff opponent, the Henderson Silver Knights. Henderson defeated the Barracuda 9-6 on April 10, then the following night they were victorious once again, winning 4-1.
Last night, the Barracuda were defeated by the Bakersfield Condors 5-2 but they'll get another opportunity to right the ship tonight, when they host the second-half of their home-and-home against the Condors.
A big reason for the Barracuda's struggles have been injuries:
With that being said, a best-of-three series doesn't leave much time for players to recover and rejoin the lineup. The Barracuda are undoubtedly going to be the underdogs heading into the playoffs, but they need to find a way to get some momentum tonight against Bakersfield if they'll want to host more than one playoff game this season.
