A scheduled day off for the San Jose Sharks turned into a nightmare practice on Friday.

All week, Friday was supposed to be a day off for the San Jose Sharks. That was until their 6-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.
All Sharks practice schedules are subject to change. After the media was informed that the team would have a day off immediately following the game, plans changed just ten minutes later when they were told the team would practice.
Head coach Ryan Warsofsky also spoke out during his postgame media availability, calling the effort "disappointing" and "downright embarrassing."
That frustration boiled over to Friday as the team went the first 20 minutes of practice without any pucks on the ice. What followed is a hockey player's least favorite thing, a bag skate.
"We talked about today being a day off, but I didn't like the effort last night," Warsofsky told reporters after practice.
Warsofsky wasn't the only one frustrated as Tyler Toffoli broke his stick over the crossbar after a drill didn't go as planned.
San Jose's next game is on Feb. 3 against the Montreal Canadiens. Will Smith is on a six-game point streak, and Macklin Celebrini has five points in the last five games.
"It's three games before the break. Again, we've talked about it. Let's feel good about our game heading into the break and whatever happens after that with the [trade] deadline, and going forward, we'll worry about that then," Warsofsky said.
Warsofsky told reporters that a metaphorical line in the sand needs to be drawn.
"Look, I get it. I get the trade deadline is around the corner. I get where we are. We’re not in the playoffs. I get that the human mind can drift and not be extremely focused. But our organization needs to draw a line in the sand. The culture is changing, and we’re not going to be a team that just gives up, no matter what the lead or the score is," Warsofsky said. “Right now, we have give in our game when we get down, and that needs to change very quickly.”
