Vitek Vanecek is back after one game in the AHL on a conditioning stint. The netminder stopped 22 shots for the San Jose Barracuda en route to a 6-2 win over the Henderson Silver Knights.
"The plan is to play Vitek one of these games," Warsofsky said after practice on Monday.
Vanecek told reporters that the first period of his rehab game took some time, but a power play late in the period settled him down.
"I feel great," Vanecek said. "Got some practices in, get one game in the AHL, and [I'm] feeling much better, for sure."
Vanecek is recovering from a broken cheekbone against the Winnipeg Jets on Dec. 17 while serving as the backup goalie.
Tyler Toffoli has had a lower-body injury for the last two days of San Jose Sharks practice, but Warsofsky expects him to play against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
Ty Dellandrea is considered a game-time decision for Tuesday's game. Dellandrea suffered an upper-body injury on Jan. 23 against the Nashville Predators.
Klim Kostin rejoined practice in a yellow non-contact jersey. Warsofsky initially ruled the big forward out through the Four Nations break but said there is a "sliver of hope" he plays on Saturday against the Dallas Stars.
Alexander Wennberg missed the Sharks' last game against the Seattle Kraken due to an upper-body injury. The center hasn't participated in the three practices between games and is unlikely to play but hasn't been officially ruled out.
