The San Jose Sharks have made another trade with the Vancouver Canucks.

The Sharks traded defenseman Jack Thompson to the Canucks in exchange for defenseman Jett Woo. While Thompson has more NHL-upside and is younger, Woo is a physical defender who can be a strong addition for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League as they prepare for the postseason.

Thompson played 33 games in the NHL for the Sharks across two seasons, scoring four goals and tallying a total of 10 points in the process. At the AHL level, he played in 85 games for the Barracuda, scoring seven goals and 35 points.

Woo on the other hand, has never appeared in the NHL game despite being two years older than Thompson. He's purely an AHL player at this stage, but he does bring physicality and leadership to the table. This season, he played 26 games for the Abbotsford Canucks recording eight points and 78 penalty minutes while being an alternate captain.
