According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the San Jose Sharks have placed defenseman Vincent Iorio on waivers.
The Sharks claimed Iorio off waivers from the Washington Capitals earlier this season. Now, the Capitals have the chance to claim him back if they wish to, with this latest news.
Yet, if Iorio clears waivers, the Sharks will then be able to assign him to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.
Iorio has played in 21 games this season with the Sharks, where he has posted three assists, 11 hits, 32 blocks, and a minus-4 rating. The 6-foot-4 defenseman also played in six games for the Barracuda earlier this season on a conditioning loan, where he recorded seven assists.
It will now be interesting to see if the Capitals or another club ends up claiming Iorio from the Sharks from here.
