The Sharks have called up two forwards to their NHL roster.

With forwards Will Smith and Philip Kurashev hitting injured reserve, the San Jose Sharks have called up two of their prospects.

The Sharks have announced that they have recalled forwards Igor Chernyshov and Ethan Cardwell from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.

Seeing the Sharks call up Chernyshov is undoubtedly notable, as he is one of the Sharks' top prospects. The 2024 second-round pick has been on fire this season with the Barracuda, as he has recorded 11 goals and 23 points in 25 games for the AHL squad so far. He has also not been slowing down as the season carries on, posting five goals and 13 points over his last 10 games for the AHL club.

Cardwell, on the other hand, is another promising prospect in the Sharks' system. The 23-year-old forward has played in 14 games this season with Barracuda, where he has posted three goals, six assists, nine points, and a plus-2 rating. He has also played in four games for the Sharks this campaign, where he has recorded one goal and a plus-1 rating.
