Now that the 2025 NHL Draft Combine is officially in the books, this is the time of year when rumors start to filter through—and one of the latest involves the San Jose Sharks.

According to reports over the weekend, Michael Misa is hoping to hear his name called by the Sharks on draft night. Malcolm Spence, Misa’s best friend, told reporters that he’s hoping San Jose drafts him. But could the feeling be mutual?

It seems like it might be. The Sharks reportedly took Misa—and several other top prospects—out for dinner, and judging by Misa’s comments in an interview with Sheng Peng of NBC Sports Bay Area, their meeting at the combine went extremely well.

“It was unbelievable,” Misa told Peng. “Very top-class organization. They're all super welcoming. Really, really nice people. I was thrilled with that.”

When asked what it would mean to be drafted by the Sharks, Misa added:“They have such a good young core. They do, obviously, have a lot of older players that are great as well. But I think their young core coming up is promising and exciting. If they were to draft me, I hope I could just help them, make an impact to their organization.”

Based on those comments, it sounds like the feeling may be mutual—and that San Jose came away equally impressed.

Bringing Misa into the organization would make a lot of sense for the Sharks. Not only would they be selecting arguably the best player available at No. 2, but they'd also be adding another high-end forward to an already promising young core.

Unless something changes between now and draft night, don’t be surprised if Misa ends up being the newest member of the Sharks—and possibly suiting up for them as early as next season.
