Dean Tait - Sport Shots - Sharks Get Top Defenseman Back After Five-Game Absence

Jake Walman returns to the San Jose Sharks lineup after missing the past five games, four due to injury.

It is unclear at this time who Walman will be paired with, as the defenseman said he doesn't want to disrupt the Sharks' solid play during his absence. Walman and Cody Ceci were the team's top pair to start the season.

"I think eventually. We might start [together] just to get my legs into it, I'm not sure. I don't want to come in and ruin the rhythm," Walman said. "I think the guys have been playing pretty good. Even the game [on Thrusday], we did some good things that when you watch, it looks like we're playing good. Wherever they put me in, I'm ready to go for anything."

Jack Thompson will be a healthy scratch for Walman.

With Timothy Liljegren running the Sharks' top powerplay unit, Walman took reps with the second unit, including William Eklund and Mikael Granlund.

Walman leads all Sharks defensemen in points with nine (1 goal, 8 assists).
