The San Jose Sharks have reportedly interviewed assistant coach Ryan Warsofsky for their vacant head coach position.
GM Mike Grier told media members that the Sharks are still early in the process of their head coaching search. Warsofsky's interview shouldn't come as a surprise, as he was also thought to be in contention before the Sharks hired David Quinn.
"We'll be thorough and have a long process as we go through," Grier said during his media availability following the Sharks winning the Draft Lottery. "We're just kind of in the early stages of it all."
Warsofsky worked his way up from the ECHL to the AHL, where he was the head coach of the Charlotte Checkers and Chicago Wolves before debuting as an NHL assistant coach in 2022.
Warsofsky is one of a likely long list of potential coaches the Sharks can interview. Other names like Jay Woodcroft, Marco Sturm, Jay Leach, Sheldon Keefe, and David Carle could get interviews.
