San Jose Sharks defenseman Jake Walman won't play against the Vancouver Canucks.
San Jose Sharks No. 1 defenseman Jake Walman will be out of the lineup against the Vancouver Canucks due to a lower-body injury.
It is unclear when Walman picked up his lower-body injury as he completed the Sharks last game against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. The No. 1 d-man finished with his second-highest ice time of the season at 25:51 across 30 shifts. He also had an assist, his 20th of the season.
Henry Thrun will get a boost in the lineup and move into Walman's spot with Cody Ceci as his defense partner. Timothy Liljegren could get a chance to run the San Jose Sharks top power play unit, but that remains unclear.
Yaroslav Askarov will get his second consecutive start, the first time he's done that in his NHL career.
Other lines are being adjusted as Mikael Granlund moves to the wing and will play with Macklin Celebrini.
Puck drop is at 6 p.m. PT.
