This Sharks forward has been placed on injured reserve.

According to The Mercury News' Curtis Pashelka, the San Jose Sharks have placed forward Ty Dellandrea on injured reserve.

Dellandrea last played during the Sharks' Jan. 6 contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets. During the matchup, he recorded one shot in 8:42 of ice time.

Dellandrea is currently in his second as a member of the Sharks. In 42 games this season with the Pacific Division club, the 2018 first-round pick has recorded two goals, nine assists, 11 points, 36 blocks, and 117 hits. This is after he had one goal, seven assists, eight points, and a career-high 163 hits in 68 games this past season with the Sharks.

With Dellandrea being placed on injured reserve, the Sharks now have a roster spot available to activate forward Will Smith, as Pashelka noted.

In 261 career NHL games split between the Dallas Stars and Sharks, Dellandrea has recorded 17 goals, 44 assists, 61 points, and 518 hits.
