    San Jose Sharks defenseman Timothy Liljegren suffered an upper-body injury against the Calgary Flames on Sunday.

    The former Toronto Maple Leafs first-round pick played 11:21 and left in the second period. 

    It is unclear when the injury happened, and head coach Ryan Warsofsky told reporters the defenseman is still being evaluated.

    Marc-Edouard Vlasic will return to the lineup for Liljegren and play with Jack Thompson.

    The veteran has played just seven games this season, including his 1,300th career game. He hasn't been in the lineup since Jan. 30 against the Seattle Kraken.

    Walker Duehr will be a healthy scratch for Carl Grundstrom. 

    Winnipeg currently leads the Western Conference with a record 40-14-3. The Jets have won nine straight games.

    "[Play a] simple hockey game. Get our legs into it.  Get pucks deep. Use our legs," Warsofsky said about having a good start. "Just take it one shift at a time. That's all we can do."
