On Monday, the San Jose Sharks announced that they had re-assigned goaltender Laurent Brossoit to their American Hockey League affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.
The Sharks acquired Brossoit from the Chicago Blackhawks via trade back in January, in a move that also saw defenseman Nolan Allan join the Sharks organization. Since then, the veteran goaltender has spent the majority of his time in net for the Barracuda. He's played 14 games for the Sharks' AHL affiliate, registering a 2.48 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage
While with the Sharks, Brossoit appeared in a single NHL game against the Ottawa Senators. During that game, he allowed five goals on 23 shots. The Sharks ultimately were defeated 7-4.
With Brossoit heading back to the AHL, it likely points to a Yaroslav Askarov return in the very near future.
