Sharks Share Big News Ahead Of Red Wings Matchup cover image

The Sharks are getting one of their top players back.

The San Jose Sharks are getting one of their best young players back.

The Sharks have announced that they have activated forward Will Smith off of injured reserve.

Smith has not played for the Sharks since their Dec. 13 matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins due to an upper-body injury. Yet, with Smith now being activated off injured reserve, he is now eligible to return to San Jose's lineup.

With Smith being one of the Sharks' most important players, it is certainly great news that he has been activated. The 20-year-old forward will now be looking to make a big impact as the Sharks look to stay in the playoff race.

In 33 games so far this season with the Sharks, Smith has recorded 12 goals, 17 assists, 29 points, and a plus-5 rating. With numbers like these, there is no question that the 2023 fourth-overall pick has been taking a nice step in the right direction with his development this campaign.

In 107 games over two seasons with the Sharks so far, Smith has posted 30 goals, 44 assists, and 74 points.
