The San Jose Sharks have announced that they need more time to evaluate Jeff Skinner's injury before they can make a determination on how long he will be out of the lineup.
Skinner was hurt in last night's game against the Calgary Flames. He left the game with an lower-body injury that looked fairly bad.
On the play, he and a Flames player went into the half-wall together and it looked like Sinner loss an edge, or his skate made contact with the other players skate. And, he went foot first into the boards and needed to be helped off the ice.
Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said after the game that they will need to further evaluate him before giving an estimate on how long he will be out. He also said that he would expect the Sharks to make a roster move to call someone up to replace the injured Skinner.
Unfortunately, it does seem like he will be missing time.
