The San Jose Sharks are back at the SAP Center this afternoon, as they'll close out their quick two-game homestand against an Eastern Conference team in a very similar situation to themselves, the Philadelphia Flyers.

Both teams are currently just outside the playoffs as they attempt to chase down the second wild card team in their respective conference.

Tonight will be Philadelphia's final stop on their west coast road trip, as they defeated both the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks in their most recent outings, but they needed extra time in both games to pick up the win. They defeated Anaheim in overtime and Los Angeles in the shootout.

Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky will have Alex Nedeljkovic back between the pipes tonight, while Dan Vladar will get the start for Rick Tocchet and the visiting Flyers.

The Sharks will be without defenseman Vincent Desharnais and forward Tyler Toffoli tonight.

As usual, the game will be broadcast on NBC Sports California for those in the Bay Area. Meanwhile for those in Philadelphia, the game will be on NBC Sports Philadelphia.
