The San Jose Sharks are set to play the Edmonton Oilers in a massively important divisional game, one that could have major playoff implications as the regular season nears its end.
The Sharks are at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta for tonight’s game. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 P.M. PT.
The Oilers picked up a win in their last outing on Sunday, but lost one of their superstars, Leon Draisaitl, for the remainder of the regular season. Despite losing Draisaitl, the Oilers still have arguably the most dangerous player in the NHL, Connor McDavid.
The Sharks on the other hand will have a player returning from injury. Alexander Wennberg missed their last game against the Ottawa Senators, but after a couple days of recovery, he’ll be back to game action tonight.
Nick Leddy is also expected to draw into the lineup, bringing some veteran expertise into the defensive group. The change comes at the expense of Shakir Mukhamadullin though, who will be a healthy scratch tonight.
Alex Nedeljkovic will be between the pipes for the Sharks, while Connor Ingram will get the nod for Edmonton.
The game will be broadcast on NBC Sports California in the Bay Area and on Sportsnet West north of the border.
