The San Jose Sharks’ AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, have signed two-time national champion goalie Matt Davis to an AHL contract through the 2025–26 season.
Davis, 23, played for Denver University this past NCAA season, posting a 29-10-1 record with a 2.07 GAA and a .924 SV% in 40 games.
He helped lead Denver to two national championships, with the most recent coming in 2024. Davis was also named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament.
Over four seasons in the NCAA, Davis finished with a 63-17-4 record, a 2.13 GAA, and a .921 SV%.
If he can carry that level of play into the pro game, the Sharks could eventually have a strong goalie tandem in Yaroslav Askarov and Davis.
