The San Jose Sharks may have been bitten by the injury bug once again.

Forward Tyler Toffoli didn't come out of the Sharks' dressing room to start the second period of their game against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.

While it's unclear what caused the injury, as there was no clear hit or impact that seemed to cause him discomfort.

Toffoli started the game on the Sharks' first line, alongside Macklin Celebrini and Collin Graf. This season, Toffoli has played in every game for the Sharks to this point. In 67 games, he's scored 18 goals and tallied a total of 44 points while often being shuffled between different line-mates.

Sharks Public Relations announced that he was "doubtful" to return to tonight's game, and no timeline beyond that is known at this point in time.
