Bob Frid-USA TODAY Sports - Pregame Preview #10: Sharks Host Sneaky Good Canucks

The San Jose Sharks (0-8-1) look to avoid their worst start in franchise history tonight against the Vancouver Canucks (6-2-1).

Kaapo Kahkonen will start in goal for San Jose per head coach David Quinn.

William Eklund was "under the weather" and didn't skate on Wednesday but will be in the lineup tonight.

San Jose tied its franchise-worst 0-8-1 start with the loss to the Washington Capitals. Quinn wants to move on from a winless October.

"The biggest thing we have to continue to do is to build our mindset up to play with more conviction and more trust in each other," Quinn said. "We took a step forward in those areas in the last three days."

Although the lineup is not finalized, defenseman Nikita Okhotiuk could make his Sharks debut tonight.

    Sharks projected lines:

    Zetterlund-Hertl-Duclair
    Eklund-Granlund-Kunin
    Zadina-Sturm-Labanc
    MacDonald-Carpenter-Smith

    Ferraro-Burroughs
    Vlasic-Rutta
    Okhotiuk-Emberson

    Kahkonen
    Blackwood

Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. PST and can be seen on NBC Sports California or The Sharks Audio Network.
