The San Jose Sharks (3-13-1) get their second look at the Vancouver Canucks (12-5-1) this season.

The Sharks lost 10-1 back on Nov. 2, and head coach David Quinn doesn't want his players coming into tonight thinking about that game.

The Canucks have lost their last two games. This is the second time this season they have lost two games consecutively.

Quinn confirmed that Mackenzie Blackwood will start in goal and that Jacob MacDonald has been activated off IR. MacDonald will be in the lineup.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic projects to be a healthy scratch for the second straight game.

"Just [be] a little bit quicker at everything, really," Quinn said about Vlasic. "Sometimes it sounds like a very simplistic answer, but that is really all it comes down to. The difference between being a good player at this level or not is that."

Matt Benning was not activated for this game, but DQ said he is close to returning.

Nico Sturm is out of the lineup for the next two games while he takes his leave of absence.

Sharks projected lines:

Eklund-Hertl-Zetterlund
Zadina-Granlund-Duclair
Hoffman-Kunin-Labanc
Smith-Carpenter-MacDonald

Danil Gushchin was not recalled despite a strong two games. Quinn said he felt Gushchin was getting a little overwhelmed defensively and physically.
