The San Jose Sharks won their second straight game by defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 Thursday night.

Fabian Zetterlund, Tomas Hertl, and Filip Zadina scored for the Sharks. Mackenzie Blackwood was amazing again, making 39 saves.

Darnell Nurse and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored for the Oilers, and Stuart Skinner made 15 saves.

The Sharks continued a more robust brand of hockey that allows them to be competitive in more games. They are getting excellent goaltending on top of that.

The Oilers may have a massive fallout after tonight's game. The hockey world felt that Edmonton was ready to be a Stanley Cup contender this year, but has only mustered two wins.

Although not confirmed, there have been rumors about a possible change in head coach and more if Edmonton lost this game. Given tonight's result, the headlines will be packed with possibilities.

    FIRST PERIOD:

18:35: Zetterlund finishes a great feed from Hertl to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead late in the first.

The Sharks played a good first period. They started strong and capitalized on the chance that was given to them.

    SECOND PERIOD:

1:56: Nurse beats Blackwood far side on a terrific shot off the rush. 1-1.

9:05: Hertl is in the right place at the right time. 2-1 Sharks.

Another strong period for the Sharks. They responded well to the Nurse goal and returned to their aggressive play style.

    THIRD PERIOD:

1:53: Nico Sturm finds Zadina on a 2-on-1 to give the Sharks a two-goal lead. 3-1 Sharks.

17:34: RNH scores with the Oilers net empty. 3-2 Sharks.
