Due to injury, Kevin Labanc won't play for the San Jose Sharks tonight against the Seattle Kraken.

Due to injury, Kevin Labanc won't play for the San Jose Sharks tonight against the Seattle Kraken.

On Monday, Labanc was involved in a battle on the boards with Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander. Hoglander slew-footed Labanc and was assessed a match penalty for intent to injure.

Yesterday, the Department of Player Safety fined Hoglander $2,864.58, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for his actions.

Labanc would remain in the game for the third period, and Sharks head coach said he was okay during postgame.

Quinn told the media today that Labanc would not be in the lineup tonight due to an upper-body injury sustained from the slew-footing incident.

"When you get hit like that and the adrenaline's flowing, you want to get back in, [I] give him a lot of credit," Quinn said. "Then, all of a sudden, the adrenaline stops, and maybe you're more injured than you thought initially."

Quinn said that the Sharks feel Labanc's injury is a day-to-day situation. He did not confirm what the exact injury was.
