Dean Tait - Hockey Shots - Anthony Duclair Will Be a Star in San Jose

The San Jose Sharks acquired Anthony Duclair from the Florida Panthers this offseason.

Duclair only played 20 games last season due to a ruptured Achilles. In 21-22, Duclair scored 31 goals, his career high, in 74 games. That season, he finished with a career-high 58 points.

Throughout training camp, Duclair has been skating with the top forwards.

His speed and skill should fit perfectly with what head coach David Quinn expects from his team.

San Jose Sharks forward Kevin Labanc told the media what it meant to play Sharks hockey.

"Just having conversations and teaching them what it's like to play in San Jose and what it's like to play Sharks hockey," Labanc said. "Hard, fast, heavy, all those attributes."

Labanc is referring to the conversations he is having with the young Sharks prospects.

Hard, fast, and heavy are all attributes that Duclair brings. With the Achilles injury now further in the past, the Quebec native should be back to his 21-22 form.

Duclair also represents himself when it comes to contract negotiations. Duclair will be a free agent at year's end, and regardless if he decides to stay in San Jose or go elsewhere, he will want to have the best season possible for himself.

If the San Jose Sharks succeed this season, Duclair will be atop the team lead in goalscoring.
