Mason Marchment Chasing 100th Career Goal

There are a number of San Jose Sharks chasing milestones, but none are closer than Mason Marchment who has scored 99 goals throughout his eight season NHL career.

Marchment's most recent goal came against the Vancouver Canucks as he scored the game-winner in his first multi-point performance as a member of the Sharks organization. He's already hit another important milestone this season, as his goal on opening night made him and his father, Bryan Marchment, just the second father-son duo to score a goal for the Sharks.

Tonight, Marchment's hunt for 100 will continue as the Sharks host the Calgary Flames before heading on the road later this week. He's had quite a bit of success against the Flames in his career, scoring three goals and tallying a total of eight points in ten games against the Sharks' Pacific Division rival.

The former San Jose Jr. Shark and son of a well-respected figure in the Sharks organization is chasing an important milestone, one that likely would've seemed out of reach early in his career. Now as a 31-year-old and 385 games into his NHL career, it's just around the corner. It's just a matter of how long it'll take him to score number 100.
