The San Jose Sharks are starting Alexandar Georgiev for the second straight game against the Utah Hockey Club tonight.

Georgiev is coming off one of his best starts since he joined the Sharks from the Colorado Avalanche. Against the Vegas Golden Knights, he stopped 38 shots and gave up three goals. He gave up two shaky goals in the first period but quickly recovered and turned what looked like disaster into a strong performance.

"[He] made some huge saves. The first period could've gotten really out of control," Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky said after the Sharks 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights. "He makes some really late saves there. The breakaway on [Jack] Eichel. [In] the third, you can go down the list."

Georgiev told reporters he has been working on some technical aspects of his game with the San Jose Sharks goalie coach, Thomas Speer.

"A little bit more technical right now. We're focusing on some basic stuff, a lot of movement, just being square to the puck," Georgiev said. "Little taller stance [and] more narrow stance. Just small things. He's a great goalie coach. I enjoy it a lot so far."
