The Seattle Kraken were once again unable to slow down the San Jose Sharks, losing 4-2 at home.

The Kraken found themselves trailing 4-0 in the second period and scored twice in an attempt to erase the four-goal deficit but came up short. Joey Daccord had a rare off night stopping just 19 of the 23 shots he faced. MacKenzie Blackwood turned away all but two of the 38 shots he faced.

Mario Ferraro broke the ice with 3:06 left in the first period after a breakdown in coverage by the Kraken. The opening frame came to an end with the Kraken outshooting the Sharks 13-9 but trailing 1-0 on the scoreboard.

Luke Kunin extended the Sharks lead with a wrist shot from the right circle less than two minutes into the second period. Cody Ceci gave the Sharks a 3-0 lead after he was first to the puck after it clanged off of the boards. Macklin Celebrini picked up the primary assist on Ceci's first of the season.

Will Smith helped make things worse for the Kraken as he finished off a 2-on-1 opportunity to make it 4-0 in favour of the Sharks.

Jaden Schwartz was able to get the Kraken on the board after he found himself wide open in the slot. His shot rifled past Blackwood's shoulder. The second period came to an end with the Kraken outshooting the Sharks 30-19.

Jared McCann cut the Sharks lead to two with a rocket into the top corner. The goal was McCann's tenth of the season and first goal in six games.

Matty Beniers was first to a loose puck with the goalie pulled and thought he brought the Kraken within one with 7.6 seconds remaining. Unfortunately for the Kraken, the situation room called goaltender interference wiping out the goal.

The Kraken are back in action on Tuesday when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes on the road.
