Kraken In Winnipeg To Face Central Division-Leading Jets Tonight
The Seattle Kraken can't afford to cut their fingernails at the moment, as they're the only thing still hanging on in the Western Conference wild card race.
All the team can do is keep winning and hope for the best, which will be a tall order Tuesday night against the surprisingly stout Winnepeg Jets.
Behind Vezina candidate Connor Hellebuyck (29 wins, 2.25 GAA), the Jets are the second-stingiest defensive team in the NHL, and have won eight of their last 10 games.
That's pushed them atop the Central Division standings.
Joey Daccord will start tonight for the Kraken. Defenseman Vince Dunn may not play, depending on how he's responded after Calgary's Martin Pospisil boarded him on Monday.
Again tonight, Kraken forward Alex Wennberg won't dress, as the team continues to pursue a trade for the Swedish center.
The THN Gaming site ran simulations on such a trade, determining "The common denominator seemed to be a second or third round pick and a solid prospect, which is probably too rich for what Wennberg will fetch in real life, but should give a good baseline of what Seattle will be looking for."
