The Seattle Kraken have reassigned top prospect Caden Price to the Coachella Valley Firebirds, per the AHL transactions page.

Price's WHL season recently concluded after the Lethbridge Hurricanes were eliminated in the Conference Finals by the Medicine Hat Tigers. In the postseason, the 19-year-old recorded two goals and eight points in 16 games.

Price's production took a dip after his trade from the Kelowna Rockets. With the Rockets, he scored six goals and 32 points in 27 games, but could only record two goals and 11 points in 30 games with the Hurricanes. Part of the reason for his dip in production was that he wasn't running the top power play unit. Those duties were given to Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Noah Chadwick, who recorded seven goals and 14 points in 16 playoff games.

Similarly to Julius Miettinen, who also recently joined the Firebirds, it's unknown if Price will get into any AHL playoff games, although it's highly unlikely. The experience he'll garner while practicing with the team will serve him well when he becomes a full-time AHLer next year.

Listed at 6'1, 190 lbs, the Saskatoon, SK native has the frame to match his smooth skating, traits that will help him transition into the pro game very efficiently.

The Firebirds are back in action for Game 3 on Wednesday, looking to take the series lead after splitting the first two games at home.
