The Seattle Kraken has inked Berkly Catton to a three-year entry-level contract carrying a $975,000 AAV.
Catton signed his ELC at centre ice with general manager Ron Francis before the start of the Stuck Cup at the Kraken's 2024 development camp.
It's expected that the 18-year-old will head back to the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL but he'll do his best during training camp and preseason to give the Kraken staff something to think about.
With the Chiefs last year, the eighth overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft scored 54 goals and 116 points in 68 games. He led his team in both statistical categories and finished with the fourth most points in the WHL.
Catton will fight for a roster spot on Team Canada's World Junior team and has received an invitation to their World Junior Summer Showcase roster alongside Carson Rehkopf.
The Kraken will do what's best for Catton's development.
