The Seattle Kraken have recalled forward Ryan Winterton and goaltender Victor Ostman from the Coachella Valley Firebirds on an emergency basis.
The Kraken recalled Winterton from the Firebirds on an emergency basis six days ago prior to their game against the Vancouver Canucks. Eeli Tolvanen and Jaden Schwartz were both held out of the lineup with injuries, allowing the 21-year-old to get into the lineup.
The Kraken defeated the Los Angeles Kings last night, and no one appeared to suffer any injuries. The Kraken assigned Jani Nyman to the Firebirds before puck drop, which opened up a spot for Winterton to join the Kraken on an emergency basis.
Ostman has played just four AHL games with the Firebirds this season, recording a .927 SV% and a 2.00 GAA. Joey Daccord started the first half of the back-to-back last night, putting Philipp Grubauer in line to make the start tonight.
Ostman could back up Grubauer tonight, allowing Daccord to rest and avoid bringing him into the game if Grubauer suffered an injury.
The Kraken take on Utah HC tonight, looking to win their fourth consecutive game.
