The Seattle Kraken have recalled goaltender Ales Stezka and defenseman Cale Fleury from the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Following the successful placement on waivers and reassignment of Philipp Grubauer to the AHL, the Kraken needed to make subsequent moves. The move they made was to recall Stezka. The 28-year-old has been called up to the NHL several times this but has yet to make his NHL debut.

The Kraken have five games left before the 4 Nations Face-Off break and don't play any back-to-backs beforehand so it's not unlikely to see Joey Daccord play in each game.

Ryker Evans has been dealing with an ailment recently and was absent from practice. Fleury was called up before practice and was skating on the third pairing next to Josh Mahura.

Fleury played in two NHL games this season, dating back on Oct. 31 and Nov. 5. The 26-year-old has been the standout performer with the Firebirds. His six goals and 16 points in 28 games earned him a spot in the AHL All-Star game that he is scheduled to play in on Feb 2-3.

The Kraken are set to battle the San Jose Sharks for the third time this season. The first two meetings saw the Sharks expose the Kraken defensively, scoring 12 goals in the home-and-home.
