The Seattle Kraken have traded forward Daniel Sprong to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a seventh-round pick.
Sprong was acquired by the Kraken on Nov. 8 from the Vancouver Canucks but struggled to hold a roster spot and was placed on waivers and sent down to the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Since the demotion, he's scored 11 goals and 25 points in 19 games.
The Devils are looking for skilled wingers after Jack Hughes was announced out for the remainder of the season, undergoing shoulder surgery. Sprong can provide speed and offensive creativity if he is given a chance to play up in the NHL.
Sprong's second stint with the Kraken wasn't as successful as his first but he'll get the opportunity to possibly play for a playoff team.
