Seattle just made a power play in professional women’s hockey. On Wednesday, the PWHL announced Meghan Turner as the first-ever General Manager of its new Seattle franchise — a bold move that brings a rising star in sports leadership to the Pacific Northwest.

Turner, who helped shape the Boston Fleet into one of the league’s early success stories as Assistant GM, is no stranger to elite competition. A former standout at Quinnipiac University and pro player in both the CWHL and the PWHPA, she brings grit, vision, and a deep understanding of the game to her new role.

But Turner's impact may extend beyond the rink. She’ll now share Climate Pledge Arena with Jessica Campbell, the trailblazing Assistant Coach of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken — and a fellow CWHL alum. The two briefly crossed paths during January’s PWHL “Take-Over Tour,” where Campbell delivered a powerful pre-game address and took center ice for a ceremonial puck drop between legends Hilary Knight and Marie-Philip Poulin, now finalists for the 2025 Billie Jean King MVP Award.

As Seattle’s expansion draft looms next month, all eyes are on what connections — and reunions — might unfold next. With Turner and Campbell anchoring Seattle's sports landscape, the city is quickly becoming a new epicenter for women’s hockey excellence.
