Seattle, WA – The Seattle Kraken recalled netminder Philipp Grubauer for Tuesday night's contest against the Minnesota Wild. Grubauer, who played seven games with the Firebirds, had been on a conditioning loan after being placed on waivers.
Fans arrived at Climate Pledge Arena early in hopes of being one of the lucky 10,000 to get their mitts on the first Grubauer bobblehead.
Grubauer was seen smiling several times on the ice during warmups, and it was evident that his absence had been missed by many of his teammates.
While Grubauer was dressed, he did not play in the game. Instead, Joey Daccord was in net.
Speaking to the media prior to Tuesday's game Grubauer told Alison Lukan things were "pretty turbulent there for a hot minute" before receiving the news he would going down to Coachella. However, Grubauer had nothing but compliments about the training staff.
The Kraken travel to Nashville for a contest with the Predators on Thursday, March 6th. Details on whether or not Grubauer will be playing have not been released.
